Partnerships for the Goals
To meet the SDG goals one thing is clear – private-public collaboration is a must. Global challenges – from poverty to inequality, from climate change to water crisis are in need of solutions that the private sector can deliver. This creates a large and growing market for business innovation. So why not be sustainable and profitable at the same time. That is the goal of The Distrikt – establish mechanisms of the private-public partnership to be innovative, sustainable, and profitable.
The Distrikt – an open collaboration platform
The Distrikt has adopted sustainable entrepreneurship and impact investing model. The dozens of enterprises located in The Distrikt we want to be responsible and keep the legacy of improving the local communities and contributing to SDGs. That is why we have adopted The Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact as a guide for the local enterprises. With our own example, we know that by integrating these strategies, policies, and procedures, and establishing a culture of integrity, companies are not only upholding their basic responsibilities to people and the planet but also setting the stage for long-term success.
In addition, The Distrikt hosts several platforms that aim to boost partnerships for the SDGs.

Collaboration for sustainable development
One of those is the SDG Center. The center will provide consultancy to the local enterprises to become more sustainable and include SDG framework in their business models. In addition, the center will be a focal point for the different stakeholders in sustainability such as local NGOs, universities, and state organizations. Yet another core function will be measuring the SDG performance and evaluating specific initiatives.

Collaboration for economic prosperity
Financial sustainability is key and success in the market is a must for that. The Digital Silk Road will be a cultural and trade center connecting Gyumri and China. The aim is to establish ties between the local organizations and the Asian peers. The goal is the experience exchange, partnerships, and finding new markets. A stronger collaboration will be established with Gyumri’s sister city Xi’an, a center of innovative education and technology.

Collaboration for Gyumri
The Distrikt is a part of Gyumri and our strategies are focused to develop the city. That is why we are motivated to establish partnerships with the local stakeholders and the Gyumri Municipality. The goal is to mobilize the resources and capacity for the sake of Gyumri. One of those initiatives is Gyumri Green City Action Plan that aims to improve the city’s ecological performance. As a part of our targets, we are having a major contribution in this action plan implementation with direct investment, the introduction of new technologies, sharing practices, and becoming a model for other parts of the city.
